EODSA Operations Assistant, Contract Position
The Eastern Ontario District Soccer Association is a not-for-profit organization and the governing body for soccer in Eastern Ontario. The EODSA is comprised of over 60 Clubs and represents over 40,000 soccer players. The EODSA develops, supports, governs, and maintains the game of soccer, both indoor and outdoor, within the geographic boundaries stipulated by Ontario Soccer.
We are seeking to fill a contract role of Operations Assistant. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting EODSA registration and administration activities. The contract will be for a one-year term with the possibility of annual renewal. Due to Covid, the contract will begin on an as-needed basis with growth of up to 40 hours per week as required. During a typical year, the contract will involve approximately 40 hours per week in March to September, and approximately 20 hours per week the rest of the year.
The EODSA is a virtual service provider and therefore remote work is preferred. The preferred candidate will be local to the EODSA catchment area due to in-person meeting requirements. DUTIES
- Preparation of digital ID cards for EODSA members
- Approval of registration for players, team officials and teams in the Ontario Soccer registration system
- Administration of permits for players and teams
- Approval and tracking of Club tournaments
- Verify Club Coach certifications
- Recording of minutes and notes from EODSA minutes. Requires evening and weekend work, approximately 3-5 hours per week
- Other general administrative duties
REQUIREMENTS
- The ability to communicate in French and English
- Excellent communication skills, with emphasis on email writing skills
- Highly organized and efficient
- Accurate in transactions and recording
- Knowledge of Microsoft office and Google Drive platforms, as well as other industry software
- Excellent work and personal ethics
- The ability to work independently without direct supervision
ADDITIONAL
- Must be available to occasionally work non-traditional hours (evenings, weekends as required)
- An energetic and out-going personality is key
- A background in soccer is an asset
