TONY HARRISON - DEVELOPMENT AWARD

In 1976, Tony Harrison finished coaching courses at the English Football Association and started coaching youth teams in the United Kingdom.

Later, during the period from 1982 to 1992, Tony attained a National Level of Coaching Certification and served as the National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP) Instructor and Staff Coach with the Alberta Soccer Association. In 1987, Tony became a Coach of the Calgary Kickers, Winners of the Canadian Professional Soccer League at that time. In 1990, he moved to Ottawa where he started Harrison Soccer & Futsal International specializing in professional, full service soccer coaching and player development programs. This program was instrumental in the placement of players in US universities and gaining soccer scholarships. From 1991 to 1999, Tony also served as an NCCP Instructor for the Province of Ontario. In 1992, Tony became a Technical Director with Gloucester Soccer Association. He also designed and implemented a range of soccer courses and programs and became a recipient of the Canada Coach of the Year Award for designing The Multi-Sensory Player Development Program (1998). Tony designed the Carleton Place Soccer Club Just Kick It Program for 4-8 year-old children based on the movement approach to physical education. This program was put in place one year prior to the LTPD Program implementation, putting the Carleton Place Soccer Club ahead of most clubs in Canada.

Tony Harrison was nominated by Eastern Ontario District Soccer Association
